What? New public squares are central to plans to revitalise St Botolph’s Quarter. The redevelopment of existing spaces and streets is important to create a more pedestrian-friendly environment, likewise the desire to create brand new squares in front of the Visual Arts Facility and the Magistrates' Court which will provide scope for a wide range of daytime and evening activities.
When? A design for this project is expected early in 2010.
Who? A mix of private sector developer investment as well as funds from the Haven Gateway Partnership and Colchester Borough Council via planning gain (Section 106) funding.
